  • 1 lb Hatfield® Recipe Essentials™ Sweet or Hot Italian Ground Sausage
  • 1 box fusilli pasta (or your favorite pasta)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (28 oz) can whole peeled plum tomatoes or 1 (14 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • Cook pasta according to directions on box.
  • In a large sauté pan over medium high heat add oil, and cook onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Remove onion and garlic, set aside.
  • In the same pan, add sausage, crumble into pieces and cook sausage until no longer pink, about 7-8 minutes.
  • Add onion and garlic mixture, canned tomatoes or marinara sauce to sausage. If using canned tomatoes, include the juice and break up tomatoes with spoon.
  • Continue to cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • Toss cooked pasta in with sausage mixture and serve with grated parmesan cheese.
