  • 3 lb Hatfield® Recipe Essentials™ Sage Ground Sausage
  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • ¾ tsp dry mustard
  • 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • Preheat oven to 300°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook sausage until brown, using a spoon to break up. Drain grease and pat sausage dry with a paper towel.
  • Grease a 9” x 13” baking dish, place bread cubes in baking dish.
  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese over bread. Sprinkle sausage over cheese.
  • Whisk together eggs, 2½ cups milk, and dry mustard in a medium bowl. Mix well.
  • Pour egg mixture over sausage and bread in baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In a small bowl, stir together cream of mushroom soup and remaining ½ cup of milk.
  • Bake uncovered for 1½ hours or until casserole is puffed and center is set.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes.
