Bourbon BBQ Ham Steak

Our juicy and savory Bourbon BBQ Ham Steak.

Ingredients

Cured with Water, Bourbon BBQ Seasoning (Sugar, Brown Sugar, Modified Corn Starch, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Natural Smoke Flavor, Vinegar, Bourbon Whiskey), Salt, Sugar, Dextrose, Potassium Lactate, Sodium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Diacetate, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite.

Cooking instructions

Skillet
  • Cook ham steaks over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, or to desired crispness.
Microwave
  • Place ham steaks on microwave-safe dish. Cover with plastic wrap and pierce to vent.
  • Heat on medium high for 1-2 minutes.
Grill
  • Preheat grill to medium low heat.
  • Grill ham steaks 2-3 minutes on each side, or to desired crispness.

Ingredients:
  • 5 pound Hatfield® Family Classic Ham
  • ⅓ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ⅔ cup apricot nectar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions:
  • Place ham on rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, in a 325°F oven for 1¼ hours or until meat thermometer registers 140°F (about 15-18 minutes per pound).
  • For the glaze, in a small saucepan combine brown sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and cloves. Stir in apricot nectar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, stirring constantly.
  • Brush ham with glaze. Continue baking 15-20 minutes more, brushing occasionally with glaze.
