Hatfield's newest logo debuted in 1999 and has been described as "Back to the Future", combining the equities of the Smiling Porker logo with the packaging traditions and values of our past. |

Hatfield celebrates its 100th Anniversary. Hatfield launches its new ham steak line, which provides a traditional item in a modern way.

Hatfield starts raising a small portion of their own hogs on farms named SMILING PORKER FARMS, INC. HATCO DAY CARE CENTER is organized to care for the daily needs of kids whose parents work at Hatfield. Hatfield Packing Company becomes Hatfield Quality Meats, Inc.

Hatfield completes its largest expansion project to date in 1976, adding 36,000 sq. ft. to its facility with new sausage manufacturing, order assembly, cold storage, and office areas. |

1961 -- 1970 |
The red and white pig logo and the new "Country Style" slogan were adopted. Hatfield completed a major renovation of the hog dressing, packaging and rendering areas. Hatfield changed from pedal truck drivers to traditional salesmen. Hatfield becomes a federally inspected plant. The first automatic hot dog machine is installed. |

Fire breaks out one August evening and Pleasant Valley Packing is burned to the ground. The four Clemens brothers purchased the original Funk Farm and expanded the business to the current location. Hatfield introduces their employee Profit Sharing Plan benefit. |

John S. and Abe Clemens (sons of John C. Clemens) purchased Pleasant Valley Packing. |

John S. and Abe join their father's business and take routes to Philadelphia and Allentown. |

John C. began delivering to Abbots and Hansell Dairies, our first distributors, twice a week. |

At a public auction in late September John C Clemens with his wife Susie, 51/2 months pregnant with their third child purchases the James Markley's farm for $4,000.00. This farm would be the future site of Pleasant Valley Packing and the beginning of John C. Clemens' business. |

John C. Clemens takes his wagon from his farm in Mainland, later known as Pleasant Valley Packing, to market in Philadelphia J.M. Funk started a pork processing business where Hatfield Quality Meats currently stands. On May 12, 1900, John C. Clemens marries Susie Stauffer of Lower Salford. |
